Hi! I’m Nicole Davey and I have over 13 years of experience in Human Resources and 3 years of experience writing resumes professionally. I started my career in Human Resources on Bay street working for a Financial Services company and after 4 years was promoted to the head of the department. I have been building and leading Human Resources departments for the past 10 years.
I have personally recruited, worked with professional recruitment firms, and executive headhunters to fill positions ranging from entry-level to C-suite. I have reviewed 1000’s of resumes and LinkedIn profiles throughout my career. I have trained HR staff and department managers on how to review and what to look for in a resume when hiring staff.
A few years ago, I started writing resumes for friends and colleagues, and I find the mix of using my expertise and the ability to help people to be extremely rewarding. When I write a resume, I write it with the lens of a recruiter and the knowledge of what a hiring manager will be looking for.
I have written resumes and helped build personal brands for people in a wide range of industries and positions. I have worked with clients in financial services, information technology, engineering, sales, human resources, law, medical and pharmaceutical, marketing, education, oil and gas, supply chain, logistics, and retail industries. I have helped people in Canada, United States, Australia, Great Britain, and Europe.

Background & Experience
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto where she majored in Human Biology and minored in Political Science. Nicole also has a Human Resources Management Certificate from Seneca College.
Nicole started her HR career working for a financial services company on Bay Street, where after four years she was promoted to the head of the department. After 11 years in financial services, Nicole accepted a position as the Director of Human Resources for 3 sister companies in wholesale grocery distribution and retail convenience stores.
In addition, Nicole has 3 years of experience writing resumes and building brands. She previously worked for one of the top resume writing services in the world where she managed clients from Canada, United States, Australia, Great Britain and Europe.
After having her third child, Nicole has decided to transition from Human Resources and expand her career with Careers by Design as a Resume and Branding Specialist.
