Important - this applies for all payments by credit card, for any of our services:
We've always used Stripe as our payment processor because of their secure platform and reliable service.
However, their transaction fee policy has become a growing cost for our business.
To keep our services accessible and maintain our current pricing, please make note of the following:
In the case of any type of refund, Stripe charges us the original transaction fees and does not refund this.
These charges will be deducted from your refund. There are two situations:
Domestic (Canadian based) credit cards: 3% transaction fee
Any international (non-Canadian based) credit cards: 4% transaction fee

Turning Point Sessions
Turning Point Sessions
There are no refunds for already completed Turning Point sessions. If for some reason you are unhappy with the service, we urge you to reach out to us and we will listen to your concerns and do our very best to make things right.
For Turning Point sessions that have yet to be used, we will provide a full refund to you (less processing fees*) upon request with at least two business days notice. Example: A Turning Point session booked for Monday at 2pm requires notice to be given by Thursday at 2pm in order to qualify for a full refund.
Refunds are provided by the payment method used to purchase the service.
Cancelling the session using Acuity Scheduling tool does not guarantee cancellation. Please also notify us by contacting your coach directly and/or our Client Happiness Manager via email at support@careersbydesign.ca

Single Sessions (not part of a coaching program)
Single Sessions
There are no refunds for already completed single sessions. If for some reason you are unhappy with the service, we urge you to reach out to us and we will listen to your concerns and do our very best to make things right.

Career Coaching Programs
4 Session Programs (Career First Aid, Your Brighter Future)
Take 30 days (from the date of the first completed session in your program) to ensure that coaching is a good fit for you. If you decide not to continue with your program, pay only for the services you have used.
You will only be billed for the coaching sessions, materials or software that you have used.
Sessions will be billed at the single session rate of $247+tax and The Transforming Stress (HeartMath) physical book at $25+tax and the e-book at $20+tax.
Here's an example: let's say you used 3 sessions out of your 4 within 30 days and you requested a refund on the remaining session. In this case, all 3 sessions will be billed at our single session rate and the cost of the HeartMath book will also be added to the total.
To receive a refund, we request that you speak to your coach about what’s not working for you.
Your coach will make suggestions to correct course and give you the support you need. Note that you also have the option to work with another coach on our team.
If you decide that you would rather not continue, we will terminate your coaching program and provide a refund (less processing fees*). After the 30 day period, no refunds will be issued.
There is a one calendar year expiry from the enrolment date for all sessions in a program.

Please note that there are no refunds for programs that are paid for (sponsored) by an employer or ex-employer.

7 Session Programs (From Stress to Success)
Take 60 days (from the date of the first completed session of your coaching program) to ensure that coaching is a good fit for you. If you decide not to continue with your program, pay only for the services you have used.
You will only be billed for the coaching sessions, materials or software that you have used.
If you have used less than 4 sessions, then single sessions will be billed at the single session rate of $247+tax and The Transforming Stress (HeartMath) physical book at $25+tax and the e-book at $20+tax. Career Cruising software, if used, at $99+tax (you will continue to have access to this for 1 year)
For more than 4 sessions, we will automatically downgrade you to the next lower package and any additional used sessions will be billed at the single session rate of $247+tax. For clients on an instalment plan, the balance of the coaching program payment is due immediately.
Here's an example: let's say you purchased the 7 session program and used 5 sessions within 60 days and decided to terminate the program. We will downgrade your 7 session program to a 4 session program and then bill you one additional session at the full single session rate of $247+tax. In addition, the Career Cruising software, if used, will be billed at $99+tax.

12 Session Programs (More Happy Mondays)
Take 90 days (from the first completed session of your coaching program) to ensure that coaching is a good fit for you. If you decide not to continue with your program, pay only for the services you have used.
You will only be billed for the coaching sessions, materials or software that you have used.
If you have used less than 4 sessions, then single sessions will be billed at the single session rate of $247+tax and The Transforming Stress (HeartMath) physical book at $25+tax and the e-book at $20+tax. Career Cruising software, if used, at $99+tax (you will continue to have access to this for 1 year)
For more than 4 sessions, we will automatically downgrade you to the next lower package and any additional used sessions will be billed at the single session rate of $247+tax. For clients on an instalment plan, the balance of the coaching program payment is due immediately.
Here's an example: let's say you purchased the 12 session program and used 8 sessions within 90 days and decided to terminate the program. We will downgrade your 12 session program to a 7 session program and then bill you one additional session at the full single session rate of $247+tax. If you used 5 sessions, we would downgrade you to a 4 session program and add a single session at $247+ tax + $99 for Career Cruising, if it was used.

Interview Coaching Programs
2 or 4 session Interview Coaching Packages
Our 2 or 4 session interview coaching packages are offered at a discounted rate. As with our coaching programs, pay only for the sessions you use. Our single session rates are $247+tax. If you wish to refund a session(s) we will downgrade you to the next lower program and single session rates apply to any remainder. For example, if you purchased the 4 session package and want to refund one single session, we will downgrade you to the 2 session package (at the discounted rate) and bill an additional $247 for the third session (billed as a single session) that was used.
Please note that refunds will incur a processing fee*.

Coaching Session Expiry and Transfer
Most of our clients use all their sessions within a few months of starting their coaching program.
Please don’t worry if you need more time.
You have a period of 12 months to use your sessions from your first completed session of your coaching program.
If things change in your life, the focus of your coaching program can also be changed to support you with your new career and life goals.
Sessions are also fully transferable and you may transfer unused sessions to a family member or friend within the 12 month period. To make life easier for everyone, we ask that transfer can only happen one time (ie. no transfer back to the original client or to another person) and that the initial session expiry time holds.
Resume Writing Packages
For resume writing packages that have been purchased but have not started (meaning no Zoom/phone consultation has happened), a full refund is available less processing fees (as described above). Contact your selected writer to begin this process.
For any other situations, including resume writing packages that are in process or completed, if you are dissatisfied in any way, please approach your writer or Caroline: support@careersbydesign.ca.
These are handled as per our satisfaction guarantee, but please do reach out right away so that we can address your concerns. We are committed to your success and will work with you to achieve your goals.
