"Participating in the More Happy Mondays career coaching program at Careers by Design gave me the tools to feel more positive and handle this stressful situation better.

All this boosted my confidence so I could take the next steps to get out of a difficult situation. My coach helped me to explore my options and I decided on a new direction with confidence.

"Coaching provided an invaluable third party soundboard, detached from my family and workmates, to truly help me evaluate my situation."

"I have worked with Careers by Design over the past 4 months, as I was in a career rut and questioning my choice of being a creative professional.

Coaching provided an invaluable third party soundboard, detached from my family and workmates, to truly help me evaluate my situation and the viability of staying put.

All told - it was by no means an easy journey - I had to take an honest look at myself, and evaluate what I was able to personally change. In the end, I got a $10,000 raise and a promotion!

I would highly recommend Careers by Design to any professional looking to advance to the next level in their development."

I recently completed a Master's to complement my skills and work experience. Before I started the coaching sessions, I was having difficulty integrating my old skills with my new skills. This made it difficult to prepare a cohesive statement on what I had to offer, and as such what I should include on a CV. My coach, Lee, helped me put together a narrative that explains who I am as a person and a professional, and why people should be confident in what I have to offer. Being able to attend my coaching sessions by Skype was an extra bonus.

I worked with Lee over the course of several months when going through a career change. I enjoyed her insight and found the Skills & Values assessment to be very insightful. I learned about aspects of a career that was of high value to me and Lee and I worked together to 'match up' these values and my skill set to my next career. I would highly recommend anyone looking for some guidance in their careers to call Lee!

After 10 years in my line of work, I wanted to be strategic about planning the next steps. The idea of change was daunting and I was faced with uncertainty. The nature of my career path is unique and I needed a specific brand of guidance to move forward. Careers By Design's approach stands out by customizing their services to each person and their career stage. Working with my career counsellor, I received empathy and the encouragement I required to move forward from someone who had gone through similar challenges. Learning to practice mindfulness and working from the inside out reduced my stress and I was able to make better decisions. I also liked the flexibility to meet with my counsellor either in person or via Skype, both worked very well. I recommend Careers By Design to anyone who is serious about making a positive change in their career by being prepared to get in touch with themselves, overcoming barriers and committing to achieving success.

Pat Parisi was instrumental in helping me to uncover what my ultimate career aspirations were and so much more. Through methodical, rigorous coaching and a holistic approach, she helped me to re-define and clarify my personal definition of “dream career,” and ultimately, to live it.
With her years of experience and intuitive savvy, she was an integral part of shifting my linear outlook of what success looked like. She has given me the life-long gift of better decision-making skills, confidence to pursue what I’m passionate about, and the strategic tools to make it all happen.
Her methodology goes to the core of each individual, and extends beyond career counselling. I’m eternally grateful for the fundamental changes, and have applied so much of this to the rest of my life. Thank you Pat, for your wisdom, patience and authenticity. I couldn’t have done it without you!

"I would definitely recommend Pat, as she delves into the deep parts of her clients, and honours both the emotional as well as the practical aspects, which I found to be very valuable. Her compassion, emotional intelligence and therapeutic/coaching mastery are a winning combination! They provided me with the tools and techniques to move my life in a new and productive direction." Unlike the distinctions/dynamics of power/knowledge that can sometimes be found and reinforced in 'service provider' and 'client' type relationships, I never once felt as if Pat was the 'teacher' and I the learner; instead, working with Pat was a partnership of equals, where our vision and commitment to my established goals were mutually strengthening and reciprocal. She empowered me not as much via 'teaching' something new or offering advice, but moreso by facilitating my own (re)discovery of my pre-existing strengths and gifts, and shedding light on the barriers preventing them from being accessed. Pat's total and authentic immersion in being fully present is refreshing (and rare) in a world where people are increasingly prone to impatience, rush and distraction. Her curious, empathetic and active approach to listening, enabled her to "get" me in a surprisingly short time, and her pro-active style of feedback (in and outside of appointments, via email follow-ups) helped keep me on track and fuel my progress via shared accountability in the achievement of my goals. I still look back on our emails and my notes from our conversations for a reminder of the what we sometimes take for granted if not forget (the bright and unique qualities about ourselves) for positive reinforcement, and, it still works ^_^
